Open Positions

Teacher

*Shifts will range from 21-30 hours per week and will be mostly afternoons, with the possibility of split shifts.

  • Plan and implement an age-appropriate curriculum.
  • Work cooperatively with other staff in providing a safe, fun, interesting and enriching programs for participating children.
  • Maintain standards set by Community Care Licensing and the Council on Accreditation.
  • Plan and implement a variety of age-appropriate instructional activities for children, whether it be extra-curricular, enrichment, or recreational.
  • Complete monthly bulletin boards and carefully plan and display a monthly calendar that incorporates all activities planned.
  • Work with, and carry out the directions of the Site Director in compliance with the policies and procedures of Kids’ Country and child care code requirements.
  • Utilize a variety of effective teaching methods to lead groups of children in assigned activities.
  • Use effective group leadership and organizing techniques that minimize behavior problems.
  • Listen to children and be sensitive to their needs.
  • Attend monthly teacher meetings and a minimum of one school age workshop, training or conference per year.
  • Maintain current CPR and 1st Aid certifications.
  • Complete any other projects or duties as assigned by the Site Director.

Required Knowledge

Education and Experience

  • 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units (or related field)
  • Minimum of six (6) months of experience at Kids’ Country or a comparable institution
  • Experience with school-aged children and programming preferred.

Training

  • Maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Maintain Water Safety Training certification
  • Attend a minimum of one (1) school-age workshops, trainings or conference sessions per year

Teacher Assistant

Shifts will range from 20-21 hours per week and will be mostly afternoons.

  • Carry out planned activities with children.
  • Maintain standards set by Community Care Licensing and the Council on Accreditation.
  • Complete monthly bulletin boards and carefully plan and display a monthly calendar that incorporates all activities planned.
  • Work with, and carry out the directions of the Site Director in compliance with the policies and procedures of Kids’ Country and child care code requirements.
  • Utilize a variety of effective teaching methods to lead groups of children in assigned activities.
  • Listen to children and be sensitive to their needs.
  • Demonstrate leadership and room control.
  • Work with other staff in a cooperative manner.
  • Complete any other projects or duties assigned by the Site Director.
